CNC Machinist – Swiss or Lathe

$30–$35/hr | Day Shift | Stable, Precision-Driven Shop

If you’re a hands-on CNC Machinist who enjoys owning your work from setup to finished part — and you’re not looking for endless overtime or chaos — this could be a great long-term home.
We’re partnering with a well-established precision manufacturing team seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Machinist or CNC Lathe Machinist to join their production floor. This is a role for someone who goes beyond pushing buttons and takes pride in setups, edits, print reading, and precision measurement.

Why machinists like this role:

  • Consistent schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm
  • Very little overtime (rare Saturday mornings only when needed)
  • Competitive hourly pay: $30–$35/hr (non-exempt)
  • Report directly to an approachable Production Manager
  • Clean, organized shop with strong safety and quality standards

The work you’ll be doing:

You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality machined parts that meet tight specifications — owning the setup, operation, and basic program edits needed to get the job done right.

Depending on your background, you’ll work with:
  • CNC Swiss machines (Star SR20J / SR10J and Citizen preferred)
    or
  • CNC Lathes (Miyano experience strongly preferred)
All machines run FANUC controls.

What they’re really looking for:

This is not an entry-level operator role. They’re looking for someone who can:
  • Perform full machine setups from setup instructions.
  • Make tool changes and offsets while jobs are running.
  • Read and interpret blueprints confidently.
  • Use micrometers and precision measurement tools daily.
  • Run multiple machines as assigned.
  • Make basic CNC program edits as needed.
  • Document production and quality data accurately.
You’ll also help support and train less-experienced operators and contribute to a team-focused, continuous-improvement environment.

Skills that matter here:

  • Strong blueprint reading & math skills.
  • Solid communication — written and verbal.
  • Comfortable with computers (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and safety-minded.
  • Team player who takes pride in a clean, well-run workspace.

Experience & background:

  • 4+ years of hands-on CNC experience (setup, operation, and program editing).
  • Experience with Swiss lathes, CNC lathes, CNC mills, or related equipment.
  • Background with manufacturers such as Citizen, Star, Tsugami, Miyano, Robodrill, Conquest is a strong plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (trade school preferred).

Physical requirements:

You’ll be on your feet for most of the shift and should be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and handling small, precision parts.
