New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce Invites Chamber and Community Members to Experience Historic Greece



The New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce has announced today that it will be offering a unique opportunity to experience the wonders of historic Greece during an exclusive 10-day journey beginning on October 19, 2017.


Participants will first explore all of Athens’ most renowned historical sites, including the massive Olympic Stadium, the striking Royal Palace and the impressive Parthenon temple built around 3000 B.C.  Next, travelers embark on a luxurious four-day cruise on the glistening Aegean Sea.  This cruise features a stop at the picturesque windmills on the mountainous island of Mykonos, a visit to the ancient excavation sites of historic Ephesus, and a full day to enjoy the charming shopping districts and sprawling beaches of the Island of Rhodes. 


Other ports of call include Heraklion on Crete, known for its miles of beautiful sandy beaches, as well as Santorini, a traveler favorite with an included shore excursion that takes participants to the cliff-top village of Thera for one of the world’s most spectacular panoramic views.  This Grecian adventure continues with a return to Athens and Mycenae to discover the remarkable theater of Epidaurus, the tomb of noteworthy Spartan King Agamemnon, as well the Lion’s Gate, the preserved site where the famous Trojan War began. With ample opportunities for learning, discovering, exploring and relaxing, this incredible journey to history-filled Greece is sure to please.
