About the speakers:
On August 5, 2011, Governor Deval Patrick appointed Richard A. Davey, MassDOT Secretary and Chief Executive Officer effective September 2, 2011. Secretary Davey leads an organization that operates with a single mission: to provide a safe, reliable and efficient transportation network for residents of the Commonwealth. Additionally, Governor Patrick charged him with implementing transportation reform that will allow MassDOT to lead the nation in transportation excellence. Secretary Davey will achieve this goal by making a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and fiscal responsibility. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Immigrant Learning Center, a non-profit center providing free English classes to immigrants and the Board of Advisors of Samaritans, Inc.
Barry M. Gosin has been a principal of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank since 1978 and has served as CEO since 1979, overseeing all facets of the day-to-day operations for the firm. In addition to guiding Newmark Grubb Knight Frank's national and global expansion initiatives, Mr. Gosin has spearheaded the firm’s merger with BGC Partners, and continues to operate the real estate division’s growth. Going forward, the merger reinforces Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s capital markets platform with the real estate investment banking and debt and equity capabilities of Cantor Fitzgerald, offering clients the deepest and most diversified services in the real estate industry. An active community leader, Mr. Gosin is a member of the Board of the Partnership of New York City; a member of the Board and Honoree of Federation Employment and Guidance Services (FEGS); a trustee of the Citizens Budget Committee, and a trustee of Pace University.
