GMSC! January 2014 Breakfast

This popular breakfast series is a high-profile, fast-paced and educational program geared towards executives, senior managers, professionals and small business owners. Each of the programs has a business-oriented focus and features a popular speaker to present on a topic of interest to local businesses. The Good Morning SouthCoast! breakfast program is also a great way to network with other Chamber members!

Featured Speaker: Stephen C. White, President of Mystic Seaport

Stephen C. White has been president of Mystic Seaport since January of 2009. Before arriving at the Museum, White was headmaster of the Fay School in Southborough, MA for 18 years, and a teacher previous to that.

White has dedicated his time and efforts to multiple non-profit organizations including serving as director of the Boys & GIrls CLubs of MetroWest in Marlborough, MA, and serving as a trustee for both Berwick Academy in South Berwick, ME, and at Hillside School in Marlborough, MA. He is also a member of the board of Directors of the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE), an organization that seeks to advance independent school groups that provide meaningful experiences for children.

A native of Camden, ME, White has long enjoyed a connection to the sea, sailing with his grandfather and father in wooden boats. He found his call to education through the sea as well, having spent summers as a director of junior sailing programs at Camden Yacht Club and Ft. Worth Boat Club. Before beginning his teaching career, White made two trans-Atlantic crossings on a sloop from Connecticut. He and his wife Maggie now live in Mystic.
