Join us on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Allendale Country Club for the Chamber Invitational Golf Tournament

Proceeds from this event will help support the efforts of the SouthCoast Chamber in our mission to advocate for business advancement, economic growth, and job creation for the benefit of New Bedford and the SouthCoast region.

The tournament will be played in a Scramble format with prizes awarded to the top three teams. The event includes lunch, a golf cart, 18-holes of golf, bottled water during play, golfer's gift bag, awards ceremony, and buffet dinner.

At the event, the SouthCoast Chamber will honor Jeffrey Glassman, CEO of Darn It, Inc. and Doug Glassman, Owner of SERVPRO Dartmouth/New Bedford, Marion/Middleboro, and Fall River for their dedication to the SouthCoast community and influence on the local economy. Join us as we pay tribute to the Glassman Family?s success as local business leaders and their commitment to a better SouthCoast!

Jeff graduated from the Isenberg School of Management at UMASS Amherst in 1990. He worked in advertising and retail operations for 4 years and then joined his father?s company, Ronnie Manufacturing in New Bedford. A few years later, the NAFTA agreement was signed and most of the clothing production was going down south to Mexico. While Ronnie Manufacturing was sizing down and eventually closing, Jeff saw a need to service the companies that were bringing products, with quality issues, into the USA and started Darn-It! in 1996. For the past 23 years, Darn-It! has serviced many retailers, wholesalers, and importers with their quality control and warehousing and distribution needs, employing over 100 people. In 2015, Jeff purchased the Hatch Street Studio Artist building. Over the past 4 years, he has helped develop and expand the artist community, by renovating and building new studios for over 80 local artists. Jeff also sits on many boards and committees in the New Bedford area including the South Coast Chamber Board of Directors, The New Bedford Creative Consortium, and the New Bedford Economic Development Council. Jeff resides in Sharon, MA with his wife Lori and their 3 children, Noah, Jack and Sydney.

Originally from Dartmouth, MA, Doug Glassman earned his Bachelor?s Degree in business management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He then moved to the Boston area and worked most of the next decade for a Fortune 500 company focusing on business operations and logistics. During this time, Doug also earned his M.B.A in Business Management from Nichols College.

Coming from an entrepreneurial family, Doug always dreamed of becoming a business owner someday like his father. It was at this time that he returned to the SouthCoast to raise a family and take a chance on fulfilling this life-long dream of becoming a business owner. In 2013, Doug jumped at the opportunity to acquire SERVPRO of Dartmouth/New Bedford as well as SERVPRO of Marion/Middleborough. SERVPRO specializes in disaster restoration and cleanup following fire, water and mold damage for both commercial and residential customers.

In addition, he also recently acquired the SERVPRO of Fall River franchise. These calculated, life-changing risks not only ended up benefiting his family but continually benefits the communities he represents. He clearly demonstrates his commitment to reinvesting in the region by continuing to create jobs, investing in the area and spending a significant amount of time volunteering for area non-profit organizations."
