DESCRIPTION:The New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce will bring Beacon Hill to the Greater New Bedford Area when it hosts Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray as the keynote speaker at its SouthCoast Legislative Luncheon on Thursday\, April 28\, 2011.\n\n\n\nLieutenant Governor Murray will be discussing the administration's legislative agenda. Afterwards\, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Question & Answer session with the Lt. Governor.\n\n\n\nThe SouthCoast Legislative Luncheon is an opportunity for business and community leaders to meet with elected officials and hear first hand what is in store on Beacon Hill for the business community. Invited legislators include Senators Mark Montigny and Michael Rodrigues\; Representatives Antonio Cabral\, Steve Canessa\, Robert Koczera\, Susan Williams Gifford\, Christopher Markey\, Paul A. Schmid\, David B. Sullivan\, William M. Straus and others.\n\n\n\n About the Speaker: Timothy P. Murray was elected Lt. Governor in September of 2006. Prior to his election as Lt. Governor\, Tim was first elected to the Worcester City Council in 1997 and became mayor in 2001. Under Tim's leadership\, Worcester experienced unprecedented progress\, with $1 billion of new economic development projects that are helping to transform an older industrial city into one that is well positioned to lead and grow in the new economy.\n\n\n\nAs Lt. Governor\, Tim works closely with Governor Patrick on the important issues facing our Commonwealth. In addition\, he chairs six councils: Governor's Council\; Seaport Advisory Council\; Governor's Advisory Council on Veterans Services\; Interagency Council on Substance Abuse and Prevention\; Interagency Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse\; and Interagency Council on Homelessness & Housing.\n\n\n\nAdvance reservations are required by Thursday\, April 21\, 2011.
