DESCRIPTION:TOPIC: Creating Inclusive Environments for Transgender Employees\n\nPresented by Gia Sanchez\, Bristol Community College\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nGia Sanchez is Bristol Community College's Diversity & Title IX Officer. Prior to coming to Bristol\, she was a partner in the Pittsburgh office of the law firm of Dickie\, McCamey & Chilcote. Gia defended clients in employment discrimination cases for over twenty years. This included prevailing on the behalf of employers in jury trials before state and federal courts. She also has extensive experience representing employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and state fair employment practice agencies.\n\n\n \n\n\nIn addition to her extensive litigation experience\, Gia regularly provided employment advice to public and private entities. She is also a trained and experienced mediator and investigator. Gia has taught EEO/Affirmative Action at the University of Pittsburgh and has conducted numerous training sessions for lawyers and non-lawyers. These include conducting training on topics such as avoiding liability in employment matters\, accommodating transgender students and harassment prevention.\n\n\n \n\n\nGia is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she was a member of the school's law review. She maintains an active Pennsylvania attorney's licence.
