DESCRIPTION:This popular breakfast series is a high-profile\, fast-paced and educational program geared towards executives\, senior managers\, professionals and small business owners. Each of the programs has a business-oriented focus and features a popular speaker to present on a topic of interest to local businesses. The Good Morning SouthCoast! breakfast program is also a great way to network with other Chamber members!\n\n\n\nFeatured Guest Speakers:\n\nThe Honorable Scott Brown\, United States Senator  and Dr. Michael Goodman\, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Public Policy at UMass Dartmouth\n\n\n	  \nSenator Scott Brown\n\nSenator Brown\, was elected by the people of Massachusetts on January 19\, 2010\, to fill the term of the late Senator Ted Kennedy. He serves on the Senate Committee on Armed Services\, the Committee on Veterans' Affairs\, the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee\, and the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.\n\n\n\nBrown began his career in public service as an assessor and then a selectman in the town of Wrentham. He went on to serve five years as a State Representative before being elected three times to the Massachusetts Senate. Senator Brown is a graduate of Wakefield High School\, Tufts University\, and Boston College Law School.\n\n\n\nDr. Michael Goodman\n\nMichael D. Goodman is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Public Policy at UMass Dartmouth.  Professor Goodman recently joined UMass Dartmouth after serving for the past eight years as the Director of Economic and Public Policy Research at the UMass Donahue Institute\, the public service\, outreach and economic development arm of the five campus University of Massachusetts system.  \n\n\n\nDr. Goodman has authored or co-authored over two dozen professional publications on a wide range of public policy relevant issues including regional economic development and housing policy as well as demographic and other applied social science research topics.  He has supported this research by generating over $4 million in external grant and contract funding from a diverse array of public and private sources.
